Make certain that you submit your visa application strictly in compliance with what the consulate tells and make sure all the required materials are ready prior to this.
To be rejected with an expired passport or visa that expires within 6 months of the planned travel.
Submission of incorrect forms, especially when it comes to information on the reason for travel, duration of stay or identity etc in visa application leads to issues and delay.
There are official invites in order to do a commercial, private or work visa application. The most Common Rejection to Missing or altering invitation information.
Providing incorrect dates on the application vs. what you have entered for invitation or travel tickets can cause a visa rejection.
Taking wrong photo (bad size, background or facial expression) Reduces process time, can shot your application at the end.
Some visa require demonstrating a doctor plan in destination of travel, which applicants forget to plan for.
Lack of original passport, old visa documents, consular fee reciept and so on might lead to Slowness or Denial.
A burned out passport or one that is less than six months valid from the date of travel will likely result in refusal for a visa.
DO NOT apply for the wrong visa as for example a tourist visa for business travel or even worse visa-fraud.
If the applicant has already been in violation of the terms of residence in Russia or experienced some problems with visas, this could influence the result.
Not submitting the application early enough leaves no time to fix incorporated errors (refusal or delay).

I have been through few visa applications while travelling a lot and one of the visa types I dare not look at it too closely was Russian. Fast forward, I read about Visabot in a travel forum. Honestly, I gave it a shot even before I bought flights to St. Petersburg and that was one of the best decisions of my trip — it was. Their site is so frickin' clean, crowded messages-free! It tells you exactly what you should do, plus goes and reviews your files like a real person is on the other end. Even the one time I made an error in my passport number (a typo of one digit), they emailed me literally an hour later and assisted me to fix it. Within 3 days of that my e-visa was approved and I faced no issues at the border. That most surprised me! I actually rather enjoyed the process—something I didn't think was possible regarding visas!

The application process was easy and quick. I received emails for each step and downloaded the visa from the mail in less than 4 days. Only the thing I could suggest is being sent less emails. But I got to admit a great job on your part and if I were to go to Russia in winter I would certainly do the same process

This is the first time I have done a visa application by myself. Usually, I apply through an agency. But it was actually easier than I expected. I still had to wait 3 days, yet it was faster than going to the office

I see so many websites that are fake, but Visabot was nothing like that. They explained everything clearly. After 3 days, I got my e-visa. The control at the border accepted it. Everything went well. 👍
